Busing is provided for Philadelphia residents by the School
District of Philadelphia Transportation Department. Children in grades one through six must live no closer
than 1-1/2 miles from the school, and no further than 10 miles.
Children from other suburban school districts are bused according to the regulations of that particular
district.
Parents of prekindergarten, kindergarten, *7th and 8th grades provide their own transportation.
SCHOOL BUS
The School District of Philadelphia provides transportation for children in grades one through six without charge. In most cases this will be yellow bus service. *SEPTA provides Student Passes for students in 7th and 8th grade who live at least 1 mile from the school. No transportation is provided for pre-kindergarten and kindergarten children, or for children living less than one and one half miles from the school. Check with your suburban school district regarding busing regulations which are often different from Philadelphia.
